The Sound of Silence

The sound of silence says so much
while never uttering a single word
many embraced within it's clutch
with one single word you can escape
peeling off that piece of scotch tape
with so many faces
going so many places
the sound of silence can be soft and sweet
or where awkward and eerie meet
a colorless blanket that wraps around us
a large temper tantrum
throwing a fuss
the sound of silence can appear out of nowhere
and leave just as quickly
disapearing in the air
off to go meet someone else in need
the sound of silence travels far
indeed
